When Living Off the Grid You Need A Solar Electric System You Can Count On

Because your off grid building is not served by utility power, you must make all the electricity you need yourself. This means it is especially important to use products that not only do the job right, but that are also durable and reliable for many years to come. That’s why our off grid power systems feature industry leading Outback Power solar electronics and Silfab solar panels.

Our 12,870 Watt DIY off grid solar kit comes with the following components:

This solar package also includes: NEC required PV system labels, a single line electrical diagram, and our standard design and installation support package.

Not Included: Required Solar Batteries

Because power storage requirements differ greatly, we have not included a solar battery bank in this off grid solar kit. Instead, we will use the information you provide to calculate how much power storage you need to provide power for the number of days you want if there is insufficient solar production without you having to charge with a generator (days of autonomy).

Need Rapid Shutdown?

The OutBack FireRaptor is rated to 150VDC for integration in a wide range of systems and designed for ease of service and clean wire management. Packaged systems include complete solutions for battery-based systems requiring one, two or four combiner boxes, while individual components can be ordered for alternative system needs, including use with grid-direct PV inverters.

QTY 1: OutBack RSI Rapid Shutdown Indicator

QTY 1: OutBack Signal Cable

OutBack’s end-to-end, UL 1741 listed solution with photovoltaic rapid shutdown systems (PVRSS) for both battery-based and grid-direct solar systems.  This solution meets the following 2014 National Electric Code (NEC) requirements:

NEC 690.11—Arc fault protection (protects against arc faults due to loose connections, damaged wires or other DC component failures)

NEC 690.12—Rapid shutdown (provides a means for first responders to safely de-energize controlled conductors)

NEC 690.15—DC combiner disconnect (opens all ungrounded circuit conductors from all sources of power)
