How Do They Do It?

All surge arrestors (somewhat like a fuse) are permanently damaged by a surge above their protective capacity and they just quit working. Because DIN rail SPD’s are always mounted out of view inside of a box (such as in a PV combiner up on a rooftop) when they fail from a near lightning strike you probably won’t know it until your equipment is damaged by the next lightning storm.  But MidNite Solar surge protectors are mounted on the outside of the PV combiner box and feature blue LED lights that are easily visible from a distance, so at a glance you know if your system is protected.

Three Versions to Choose From

The MidNite Solar Lightning Arrestor is offered in three different voltages to maximize the required protection level. Protection is achieved by reducing the clamping voltage to a safe voltage that your system can sustain without damaging any electronics in the system.
